Christians, why will improper remarriage send someone to hell when some people in the Bible had many

Romance Expert Asked: Christians, why will improper remarriage send someone to hell when some people in the Bible had many

For example, Abraham, Jacob, David, and Solomon had more than one wife. Yet, I hear some preachers say that people who remarry without a legitimate divorce will be automatically sent to hell.

Also, did you guys know that people who call themselves Christians but refuse to help the poor, the oppressed, and suffering will also go to hell too, as per James 2:1-13 (coming from the pen of the Lord's brother)?

Jesus came to fulfill the law. We are saved by grace only. We are ALL sinners. Jesus has forgiven ALL sins.

Salvation is only pinned on one thing.

Not marriage.
Not food.
Not sex.
Not works.
Not cats and dogs.
Not breathing.

What is salvation pinned upon?

All divorce is a sin.Sin requires a debt.Jesus paid that debt for many (not all).

Yes, christians are suppose to help the poor, oppressed, sick, etc. This means spiritually poor, sin-oppressed and sin-sick, etc. This is why we share the gospel.

Not only did they have many wives, but at least in the case of Hagar, Abraham had a child with her and then banished her with their son when the family hierarchy was upset. Isn't that the very definition of a divorce?

Re-marriage and divorce should never be taken lightly, but I don't accept doctrine that sends you to hell for that.
