Open marriage conflict?

Flirting Asked: Open marriage conflict?

My husband and I are in an open marriage. Our number one rule for married people that we date is that their spouse must be aware of the situation. No cheaters allowed. My husband met someone online. After chatting and finding that they had a GREAT connection he tells me the only problem is that her husband does not know, BUT he thinks that he can convince her to talk to him about seeing other people. I VERY RELUCTANTLY concede and let him meet her. Turned out that she played games with him and he does not want to see her in person again. HOWEVER, even though I want to contact to end, he insists that he does not want to burn bridges with her and WILL continue chatting with her online. I am right to be angry about this relationship continuing even though it will be online only?

Marriage, Taxes & Financial Aid?

Jane Asked: Marriage, Taxes & Financial Aid?

My boyfriend is in the army and we have been talking about getting married before he deploys next year. We were wanting to get married before the end of this year, but I'm concerned about a few things:

1. I held my first job this year, so that means i'll have to file a tax return next year right? If I'm filing my own tax return does this make me an independent and my parents can no longer claim me on their taxes?

2. If we got married, we weren't planning on telling my parents because my mom's dead set on me being done with college first. Our plan is to do it in the courthouse & than have an actual ceremony a few years down the road…The only problem with that is, I think my mom claimed me on her taxes for this year. How will this affect us if we get married this year? Could that somehow lead to investigation by the IRS and her finding out about our marriage?

3. And lastly, will getting married effect the amount of financial aid I get?? I currently am a full time student paying for my own tuition. The only source of income would be my boyfriends paycheck since I don't hold a job during the academic year, but we don't want to use that to pay for my tuition. So my question is, would I be better off filing my FASFA for the year before I got married or would I possibly benefit and get more financial aid by filing my FASFA afterwards?

I need expert advice!! Thx
